Sylvia (Case) Clodfelter, the daughter of Walter Marion and Hallie Faye (Gaines) Case was born April 26, 1928, in Watson, Missouri. She graduated from Watson High School in 1946. Sylvia was very competitive, enjoyed playing basketball at Watson High School and played softball many years after graduating. Sylvia could often be seen playing ball with her children in the backyard. She also enjoyed playing cards, caroms and games with her siblings and children.
On September 3, 1946, Sylvia was united in marriage to Alfred Duane Clodfelter. They became the parents of six children, Diana Marie, Russell Duane, Daniel Leroy, Kenneth Calvin, Shirley Mae and James Dean.
Sylvia was employed as a school cafeteria cook for Watson and Rock Port Schools, retiring in 1985. After her retirement, she cooked at Cherished Cherubs Daycare and later worked at Rock Port Inn in Rock Port, Missouri. Sylvia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed babysitting her great-grandchildren until she was in her late seventies. Alfred passed away in 2003. Sylvia passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Bryan LGH Medical Center West, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85.
Besides her parents and husband, Alfred, Sylvia was preceded in death by daughter, Diana Marie Rivett; and siblings, Marie Morrison and Paul Dean Case. Survivors include children, Duane Clodfelter and wife, Peggy, Seward, Nebraska, Dan Clodfelter and wife, Debbie, Rock Port, Kenny Clodfelter and wife, Bonnie, Princeton, Illinois, Shirley Makings and husband, Richard, and Jim Clodfelter and wife, Alma, all of Rock Port; son-in-law, Alan Rivett, Nebraska City, Nebraska; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Faye Sowle, Roy Case, Doris Lingerfelt, Kenneth Case, Joe Case, Marge Palmer, Jean Mensen and Alice Rader.
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 30, 2013, United Methodist Church, Rock Port.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
