Tammy Sue Simmons, the daughter of Delmar and Karen (Appling) Schebaum, was born January 19, 1967, in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1985.
On July 12, 1986, Tammy was united in marriage to George Elvon Simmons in Clarinda, Iowa. They made their home in Corning, Iowa, and became the parents of two daughters, Amanda and Amber. George passed away July 27, 2011, in Corning.
During her lifetime, Tammy was employed as a caregiver at the group home in Sidney, Iowa, and at the Subway Restaurant in Corning.
Tammy loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Peewee and Baby Girl, tending to her flowers and going on car rides. Tammy passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Bryan LGH Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 51.
Tammy was preceded in death by her husband and father. Survivors include daughters, Amanda Ruth Gaede and husband, Matthew, Chetek, Wisconsin, and Amber Rose Simmons, Tarkio; grandchildren, Hunter Matthew George Gaede and Mackenzie Lynn Faith Gaede; mother, Karen Schebaum, Westboro, Missouri; sisters, Wendy Schebaum, Nebraska City, Nebraska, Mary Jane Brown, Fairfax, and Kristina Schebaum, Ashland, Oregon; brother, Delmar Schebaum and wife, Cookie, Tarkio; adopted sister, Quinn Goodman and her daughter, Abagail Goodman, Ashland; and companion, Gary Kestner, Tarkio.
