Virginia “Ginny” McCroskey was born October 9, 1951, in Estes Park, Colorado, to Wallace “Mac” and Florence McCroskey.
She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Edward Dodson, September 5, 1971, in Liberal, Kansas. They had one daughter, Doris Jean “DJ” Burke. Bob passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 1972, in a motorcycle accident. Her love for him never faded.
During her life Ginny obtained her Cosmetology license, and later CNA license. Ginny was a very hard worker and dedicated Mother. She is well known for working at both the Rock Port and Tarkio care centers during the 80’s. She also worked at Max’s Trail Boss in the early 90’s before moving on to her last job at The Hen House.
Ginny married James Louck June 9, 1996, in Tarkio Missouri, they later separated.
When Ginny’s health permitted, her hobbies included camping and fishing with her daughter and grandchildren, crafting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed hosting large holiday dinners for her family and friends. Ginny was also known for her large collection of angels.
Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her and she was always proud to talk about them.
Surrounded by loved ones, Ginny gained her angel wings January 3, 2019, at the Fairfax Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by husband, Bob Dodson, two brothers, Bill and Chuck, and one sister, Sandy. Survivors include daughter, DJ (Dan) Burke, Rock Port, Missouri; grandchildren, Kavin (Elyssa) Burke, Duncan, Oklahoma, Ryleah Burke, Rock Port, and Kaci Burke, Fairfax, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Jakleigh Burke and Weston Burke; five brothers, Jimmy, Melvin, Bobby, Walter, and Sam; three sisters, Irene, Helen, and Cheryl; numerous nieces, nephews, and other “adopted” grandchildren.
There is no visitation, service or inurnment planned at this time.
