Virginia Maxine Hudson
July 6, 1936 - July 20, 2008
Virginia Maxine Hudson, the daughter of Ralph and Hally (Underwood) Bradley, was born July 6, 1936 in Rock Port, Missouri. She attended the Rock Port schools, graduating from Rock Port High School in 1954.
On June 4, 1954, Maxine was united in marriage to Luther W. Hudson Jr. and they spent their first year of marriage in Honolulu, Hawaii until Luther finished his service in the United States Navy. They then moved to Rock Port, where they spent most of their married life together. In 2004, Luther and Maxine moved to Rogersville, Missouri to be closer to their daughter, Rhonda.
Maxine spent most of her adult life as a public servant in the Missouri State Court system, retiring in 2004 as Atchison County’s Emergency Management Director.
After enduring prolonged, complicated health conditions, Maxine passed away July 20, 2008 at the Cox South Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and relaxed knitting and embroidering.
Besides her parent, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Bradley and a sister, Joanne Bradley.
She is survived by her husband,of 54 years, Luther, of Rogersville; one daughter, Rhonda and her husband, Todd Staples of Rogersville, one granddaughter, Farrah Staples of Leawood, Kansas; one brother, Ronnie Bradley and his wife Judy; nephews, Rick Bradley and his wife Lawna; and Joe Bradley and his wife Amy, all of Rock Port. She is also survived by one great nephew and four great nieces.
Maxine will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends she made over her lifetime.
Services: Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 10:00 am, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Rock Port.
Visitation: Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Memorials: American Diabetes Association.
Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
