Wendy R. Burke

1967-2019

Tarkio, Missouri

 

Wendy Renee Burke, the daughter of Jack Perry and Linda (Harbin) Perry was born on September 18, 1967, in Fairfax, Missouri.  Following their divorce, Wendy, at age 13, was adopted by Linda’s husband, Vernon Schaefer, Jr.  Wendy attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1986.  She also attended Northwest Technical School, Maryville, Missouri, receiving her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate.

 

In 1987, Wendy was united in marriage to Brian Peregrine.  They became the parents of three daughters, Lindsay, Lacie and Lea.  They were later divorced.  On June 25, 2016, Wendy was united in marriage to Jason Burke at the First Baptist Church in Tarkio.  They made their home in Tarkio to the present time.

 

For 15 years, Wendy was employed in Orthopedics at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.  She also worked for Tarkio Academy and Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care.

 

Wendy enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles with Jason.  She also loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.  Wendy passed away

Monday, January 21, 2019, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 51.

 

Wendy was preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Vivian Perry, Vernon Lawrence Schaefer, Sr, aunt, Pat Perry and great-aunt, Earlene Hays.  Survivors include husband, Jason Burke, Tarkio; daughters, Lindsay Sheley and husband, Tyler, Vail, Arizona, Lacie Peregrine, Tarkio, and Lea Sutter and husband, Ryan, Rock Port, Missouri; two grandchildren, Esmee-Blue and Bristol Layne; parents, Vernon, Jr. and Linda Schaefer, Tarkio; biological father, Jack Perry and wife, Charlene, Sioux City, Iowa; two sisters; one brother; one half-brother; and one stepbrother.

 

Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment: 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 26, 2019, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life:  2:00 P.M., Saturday, Tarkio Community Building
