William C.  “Bill” Lindsay, the son of James Robert Clifton and Mary Margaret (Hays) Lindsay was born October 12, 1949, in Hamburg, Iowa. Bill graduated from Tarkio High School in 1967, and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later received a Master’s in Education from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri.

 

In 1974, Bill was united in marriage to Maria Kalamon, and they became the parents of two sons, Jimmy and Danny. They later divorced.

 

Bill began his teaching career in the St. Joseph Public School system. He then moved to Tarkio, Missouri, where he taught for 22 years. Before his retirement in 2005, he taught in Kansas City, Missouri, for 3 years. Upon his retirement, he made his home in Camdenton, Missouri, close to his family, where he lived to the present time. Bill passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 60 years.

 

Bill participated in Boy Scouts and earned the high achievement of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed fishing and staying in the timber with his parents.

 

Survivors include his two sons, Jimmy Lindsay and his wife, Emily, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Danny Lindsay and his girlfriend, Tasha Gawatz, St. Joseph, Missouri; five grandchildren, Andon (Tuffy) Lindsay, Anna (Kerchunk) Lindsay, Levi (BamBam) Lindsay, Noah Clegg, and Hailey Gawatz; parents, Bob and Mary Lindsay, Camdenton; cousin, Billy Dean Lindsay, Tarkio; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Services: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio, MO.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 9:00 a.m., at Davis Funeral Home.
