William Edward Butler, the son of Roy Logan and Ada (Fox) Butler, was born September 19, 1925 in Tarkio, Missouri. He attended school at Tarkio, and then joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his country during World War II.

 

Ed was united in marriage to Shirley McGuire, who passed away in 1955. He then married Betty Knowles, who passed away in 1998.

 

Ed was an over the road truck driver, hauling for Jack Cooper Transport Company for 37 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Westminster, Colorado. Ed passed away September 19, 2008 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 83 years.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and wives. Ed is survived by his companion, Marilyn Erdman, Rock Port; two sons, William Michael Butler and his wife Kathy, Rock Port, James Hannah and his wife Betsy, Longmont, Colorado; four daughters, Pat Grablin and her husband Mark, Lakewood, Colorado, Micki Rogers and her husband Paul, Arvada, Colorado, Jean Liffick and Robin Martinez and her husband Leroy, both of Wheatridge, Colorado; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren with two more expected in October.

 

Memorial Services: 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. The family will greet friends following the services from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Minter Funeral Chapel.
In inurnment will be held at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheatridge, Colorado.
Memorials: Army Emergency Relief Fund.
Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
