Willie (Bill) Ray Price, the son of Bulah Ray and Carrie Belle (Wooten) Price, was born February 6, 1929 in Watson, Missouri. Willie attended rural Watson school until the sixth grade.

 

On February 28, 1951 Willie was united in marriage to Dolly May White. To this union were born three children, Virginia, Carrie and Willie Ray, Jr.

 

Willie was a mechanic and worked on large passenger busses and heavy equipment. He was also a 12 year member of the Iowa National Guard Company E 168th Infantry 34th Division. Willie passed away Saturday October 14, 2006 at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 77 years.

 

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Virginia Lee and Keith Edwards, Jackson Spring, North Carolina, and Carrie Lynn and Dennis Frost, Conception Junction, Missouri, one son, Willie Ray Price Jr. and his wife Deneen, Phoenix, Arizona; two grandsons, Brian Edwards, (wife Sherry) and Corey Price, (wife Suzannah); two granddaughters, Lynn Edwards and Megan Price; three great-granddaughters, Brianna and Claudia Edwards and Taylor Price; two brothers, Willis Price, Westboro, Missouri and Donald (Corky) Price, Tarkio, and sister Shirley Smith, Rock Port.

 

Besides his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his step-mother, Bertha May, and one infant sibling.

 

Memorial services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. A private family inurnment immediately followed at Millsap Cemetery, Rock Port. There was no visitation. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
