Willis Lee Price, the son of Bulah Ray and Carrie Belle (Wooten) Price, was born January 4, 1930 in Watson, Missouri. He attended the Watson schools, and then was employed by area farmers.

 

On December 26, 1951, Willis was united in marriage to Shirley Kay Cavner and they made their home in Hamburg, Iowa. In October of 1952, Willis joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in December of 1954. Upon returning, Willis became self-employed, owning Price Tree Service, trimming trees and doing yard work. Shirley passed away in December of 2002. Willis passed away December 13, 2007 at his residence in Westboro, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

 

Besides his parents and wife, Shirley, Willis was preceded in death by his stepmother Bertha Mae (Mortimor) Price; brother, Bill Price; granddaughter, Amelia; stepsister, Ruth Larson, and stepbrother, Donald Jack Mortimor.

 

Survivors include his children; Sharon Kalkas, Omaha, Nebraska; Richard Price and wife Linda, Red Oak, Iowa; Marjorie Duran and Manuel, Westboro; Linda Parsons, Red Oak; Tammy Lukehart and husband Rocky, Red Oak; 14 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother Donald Price, Tarkio; half-sister Shirley Mae Smith and husband Charles, Hamburg, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Graveside Memorial Services and Inurnment: 2:00 pm Saturday, May 17, 2008, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.
There is no visitation.
