Wilma Frances Baruth, the daughter of Arnot Franklin and Ethel (Payne) Baldwin was born November 2, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1982 and 1986 she graduated from Kansas State University with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Geography.
On April 18, 1954, Wilma was united in marriage to Jack Lowell Baruth and they became the parents of three sons; Scott, Wes and Ken. The family lived in numerous cities throughout the Midwest including Kansas City, Missouri, Omaha, Nebraska, Salina, Marysville and Lawrence, Kansas, where she held numerous positions in education, banking, life insurance, newspaper publications, economic development and real estate.
Wilma’s affiliations included; Regent and Vice Regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, Parker Community Historical Society, Marysville, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, Association of American Geographers, and the Gamma Theta Upsilon Geography Honor Society. Wilma Frances Baruth, 80, Tarkio, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include husband, Jack Baruth, Tarkio, Missouri; sons, Scott Baruth, Manhattan, Kansas, Wes Baruth, Tarkio, Ken Baruth, Murrieta, California; grandchildren, Shaun Baruth, Seoul, Korea, Tristan Baruth and Makayla Baruth, both of Manhattan, Alexandra Baruth, Anthony Baruth, and Austin Baruth, all of Tarkio, Andrew Baruth, Houston, Texas, Lauren Baruth Stromberg, Lawrence, Kansas, and Rachael Baruth, Kansas City; step grandson, Bryce Ried; two great-grandsons, Raiden and Tiberius Baruth; and brother, Franklin Baldwin and wife, Deloris, Miller, Missouri.
Funeral Services:
10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Elmgrove Cemetery, Cadmus, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 AM, Wednesday, at Davis Funeral Home.
