Winona M. Hall
Rock Port, Missouri
1923-2013

 

Winona Mae (Cooper) Hall, the daughter of Herbert and Edith (Rosenbohm) Cooper, was born August 12, 1923, at home in rural Langdon, Missouri. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Langdon. Winona attended Langdon grade school and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1941. She then attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska for one semester. She returned to Rock Port and was employed at the Bank of Atchison County.

 

On June 17, 1945, Winona was united in marriage to Earle M. Hall. They made their home on the family farm twelve miles north of Rock Port. In 1969, they moved into Rock Port where she lived until 2011, when she became a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port. Winona passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing Home at the age of 90.

 

Winona and Earle celebrated 57 years together before his death in 2002. She was a full-time homemaker and farm wife. She loved working in her yard and flowers. As a couple, they were both very active with the Navigator Ministries. The highlight of their life was introducing Jesus to people and leading them through the scriptures. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Westboro, Missouri.

 

Besides her parents, Winona was preceded in death by her husband, Earle, a sister, Mary Louise Meyerkorth, brothers-in-law, Ben and John Hall, and nephew, Benjamen Hall III. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Herron and husband, Danny, Rock Port; grandsons, Corey Herron and wife, Kristi, Kelley Herron and wife, Amy and Thomas Herron, all of Rock Port; granddaughter, Cyndee Thompson and husband, Tomie, Hamburg, Iowa; seven great grandchildren, Andrew, Austin and Adam Thompson, Hamburg, Emily, Nick and Joey Herron, and Phillip Herron, all of Rock Port; sisters-in-law, Caroline (Hall) Kurtz, Forest City, Missouri, and Donna Hall, Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Arnold Meyerkorth, Rock Port, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

SERVICES:
10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 20, 2013, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri.
INTERMENT: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
MEMORIALS: St. John’s Lutheran Church or Pleasant View Nursing Home.
