Wintress Jane (Janie) Meier, the daughter of Charles Henry and Wintress Lorene (Brindle) Meier was born July 19, 1941 in Fremont County, Iowa. She was most affectionately known as Janie and brought joy to her family and extended family and friends.

As one of God’s special children, she lived with her mother and was cared for by Wintress until she was no longer physically capable. While living on the family farm, Janie spent many hours sitting outside enjoying their pets. Upon entering the nursing home in 1998, many residents and staff extended their special attention and love to Janie.

Janie passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 68 years. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janie is survived by her aunt, Carmen Brindle, Houston, Texas; cousins, Elaine Meier and Sue Meier, Tarkio, Sheree Shaw and Tim, Westboro, Steven and Shari Meier, Essex, Iowa, Bob and Orma Meier, Tarkio, Phil and Janet Meier, Maryville, Jan and Gary Taylor, Fairfax, Lorie and Chris Hall, Tarkio, Mildred Muriel Pfeil, Rock Port and numerous other cousins.

Graveside Service and Interment:
2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, St. John’s Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
