Billy Dean Lindsay, the son of Faye (Lindsay) Chastain, was born August 15, 1940 in Tarkio, Missouri. Bill attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, graduating in 1958. On July 30, 1962, Bill entered the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War Era. Due to a service related injury, Bill was honorably discharged on February 10, 1966 and was medically retired in 1970. Bill then attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969.

After returning home from the Air Force, Bill was employed by Pamida in Shenandoah, Iowa and Hy-Vee, Tarkio.

Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church and was recently honored with his 50 year membership with Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio. He loved to play and coach baseball and softball teams. Bill also participated on Hy-Vee slow pitch softball team. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan. Bill passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 80.

Besides his mom, Bill was preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Survivors include aunt, Clara Mae Avant, Houston, Texas and numerous cousins.

Graveside Service and Interment: 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.

There is no family visitation. Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
