Graveside servcies and inurnment for Carol Ann McCoy Renzulli of Lawrence, Kansas will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 11:00 am. at the Home Cemetery, Tarkio. There is no visitation.

 

Carol Ann, the daughter of Herbert and Florene (Williams) McCoy, was born July 1, 1943, in Tarkio. She attended the Tarkio public schools, graduating with honors in the Tarkio High School Class of 1961. Carol Ann attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where whe was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She later attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and Tarkio College, Tarkio.

 

Because of early health problems, Carol Ann left school and moved to the New York City, NY area where she was able to receive treatment at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine for her rare disorder, Wilson’s Syndrome. The disease left Carol Ann in a wheelchair later in life, but she greeted every day with a beautiful smile. Unfortunately, the disease also robbed her of her wonder musical abilities. She was a talented pianist with a beautiful voice.

 

While in New York, Carol Ann met and married Lou Renzulli, a newspaperman working for Newsday. She enjoyed meeting the political and intellectual people that Lou encountered in his work. They were later divorced.

 

Carol Ann then returned to the Lawrence area, where she was active in Democratic politics. She was a Presbyterian. Carol Ann passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Lawrence at the age of 64 years.

 

Besides her parents, Carol Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Rolf.
