Edward Lee (Scooter) Hughes II, the son of Edward Lee and Shirley Diana (Smith) Hughes, was born December 15, 1958 in Fairfax, Missouri. Scooter attended grade school in Cook, Nebraska, and Graham, Missouri and Burlington Junction, Missouri, where he graduated from Burlington Junction High School in 1977. Following college Scooter worked at Lloyd Metal Products, in Maryville. He was an avid coon and deer hunter, fisherman, mushroom hunter, and also enjoyed restoring antique furniture and cars. But first and foremost he was an incredible father who loved and was proud of his children, Jade, Jasmine and Jordon. They were number one in his life. In recent years Scooter had grown very close to the LORD and prayed and gave thanks regularly for his family. He passed away June 25, 2007 at his home Northwest of Rock Port at the age of 48 years.
Scooter was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and David Hughes, maternal grandparents, Walter and Goldie Smith and paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Mabel Hughes.
