Genie Kayann (Parsons) Perry, the daughter of Everett Eugene Parsons and Ruby Darlene Lambert, was born September 19, 1965, in Houston, Missouri. She graduated from Murray High School in Murray, Kentucky, in 1983. On November 2, 1989, Genie was united in marriage to Don Perry and they made their home in Tarkio. Genie was a stay-at-home mom, spending her days taking care of their sons, Shawn, Mitchell, and Martin. They were later divorced.
Genie worked at Northview Manor Nursing Home in Tarkio. She worked five years at Tarkio Academy until it closed. She was then employed by Community Hospital, Fairfax, in Fairfax, Missouri, and later began her nurse’s training at Northwest Technical School in Maryville, Missouri, in December, 2004, graduating Friday, July 21, 2006, with a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. She continued her employment at Community Hospital to the present time. In her spare time, she loved making arts and crafts and doing scrapbooking. Genie loved her family and friends with all her heart. Genie passed away February 17, 2008, at the age of 42 years, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Genie loved her work at the hospital. She always cared about other people and wanted to make a difference in their lives. Her warm smile and loving care that she provided for her patients touched a lot of hearts. She will be sadly missed.
Besides her father, Genie was preceded in death by her brother, Jody Parsons; grandparents, Pearlie and David Parsons, and Martha and Orval Volner. Genie is survived by three sons, Shawn Parsons, and Mitchell and Martin Perry, all of Tarkio; mother, Darlene Lambert, Watson, Missouri; three brothers, Lonnie Parsons, Donnie Parsons, and Travis Lambert, all of Watson; one sister, Jennifer Junior and her husband, Jeremiah, Watson; half brother, Phillip Parsons, and half sister, Lucinda Parsons, both of Red Oak, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Nicole, Jacob, Heather, Andrew, Melissa, Crystal, Micky, Garrett, Christian, and Kiley.
Services: Wednesday, February 20, 2008, 3:00 pm., Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Interment: Center Grove Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no scheduled visitation. Open visitation will begin after 9:00 am, Tuesday.
Memorials: Genie Perry Memorial Fund.
