I just found out about Jon's tragic passing. I worked with him at Bank Midwest and he was such a JOY and more than a colleague: a true FRIEND. Jon - I missed your sense of humor and kindness the day I left the bank. I know how much you loved your children and how proud you were of them. May your family find peace and feel your warm presence that will be remembered by all who knew you.

I so sorry for your family loss. I worked with Jon for many years while at Mo-Kan. I served on the Mo-Kan board during his tenure at Mo-Kan. He help me(My Bank) get several loans approved over the years. Jon was very knowledgeable and was full of life and a pleasure to work with. We both loved to fish, we traded fishing stories many times. Jon will be missed. He was one of the good ones. Don Ball a friend/business associate

My heart aches for Heather, the kids, the Ecker and Long families!! Jon was such a joy, always smiling, encouraged laughter, and made me feel like part of the Long family whenever I was around. My heart was breaking when Amy told me and I wish I could be there. He will always be in our hearts and the memories will be with each of us forever. Hug's!!

Jon you will be truly missed. Although I did not work 1 on 1 with Jon, I enjoyed his sense of humor and great personality that I witnessed during our weekly team pipeline meetings. Anyone that was exposed to Jon knew he was a wonderful man. I feel blessed to have known him if only for a very short time. My prayers to the family. May God lift you up during such a difficult time.

I am so shocked and saddened to see in the morning paper in St. Joseph that Jonathan has died! I worked with Jonathan for about two years at Mo-Kan in St. Joseph. What a wonderful, smiling, hard-working young man he was. My sincere sympathy to all of the family at this time with the deaths of Jonathan, Justin & mom, Carol. So very sad - sending prayers upward to Heaven for them all and all the family they left behind.

Jon and I only worked together for a short time. We started at Sunflower around the same time so we joked about the blind leading the blind. He was anything but not knowledgeable, though. He was a joy to work with and bright as a whip! During the time we worked together I was out for surgery on my foot and down for the count. Every time I spoke to Jon he asked me if I was up and around yet - ever thoughtful! Jon had a big impact on many of us at Sunflower during the short time we were lucky enough to work with him! Thank you, Jon, for your bright light! You are missed.

Jon was one of a kind. Always smiling, willing to pitch in to whatever project needed to be done. He was the Sausage King at our Lion's Club, although we never gave him a crown while he cooked the sausage for the big fundraiser. Jon was awarded the the "Melvin Jones Award" at our awards banquet. This is the highest award you can receive for individuals who address the betterment of their club, community and the world. My heart is breaking for this family. There are no words that can express how much this man will be missed by all who knew him.

I am so deeply saddened to know that Jon is no longer with us and his life was so tragically cut short, but choose to celebrate a life well-lived! I know that is what Jon would want. I had the pleasure of working with Jon for several years, and counted him among my friends. Jon was a wonderful father who always made time to be at his kids events and to be with family, and I will always remember his smile, his sense of humor, and his laughter. I will miss you, Jon, and I pray for your family's healing!
