I have many fond memories of Lois in Tarkio. I came to Tarkio in 1980 and taught philosophy until I left in 1986. Lois and Al were among the first people I met, and because of our shared interests in religion and philosophy, we became good friends. I remember distinctly spending time with Lois when Al died. I also remember coming over to her house every day to give her cat a pill. It was followed by cookies and a chat in her living room. She was a wonderfully kind and generous woman.

Dear Joyce, Jim and family, Lois was our neighbor for many years and was a constant source of serenity and beauty. We enjoyed her sense of humor as well as her friendship. Her background and travels were amazing. She lived a full and rich life and will be missed by all. Our sincere sympathy for your loss. We know she is now at peace. George Stevenson

Lois was very kind to me while I attended Tarkio College in the mid to late 80's. I remember her fondly and will always be thankful for her loving treatment of me during my time away from my own family.

Lois was a mother to me when I lived in Tarkio. She was always there when I needed her--I was so far away from my own family. So she sort of adopted me. She was always so loving and kind and very wise. Her advice got me through some tough times. I visited her a few times in the nursing home and I was always surprised to see that she didn't change, or age much. 101! Wow. Now she is with her Lord in heaven.

Dear Jim, Your mother was a wonderful lady. I looked forward in visiting with your mother when I lived back there. She was very kind and thoughtful with a wonderful sense of humor. Her laugh was contagious! Please note that I send my condolences to you for the passing of your brother, Dave. He, Steve Brooks, Darrell Chambers,Greg Prather, Harry and David McMillan and Hughes Woods were the best guys for me to look up too. Gods speed to you and your family.
