Lyle W. Walter

1956-2019

Long Beach, California

 

Lyle W. Walter, the son of Keith E. and Wilma Jean (Kerr) Walter, was born on July 24, 1956, in Long Beach, California. He attended the Robert A. Millikan High School, Long Beach, graduating in 1975.

 

In his younger years, Lyle worked in the family business, Walter Sweeping, sweeping parking lots in the greater Los Angeles area. For 40 years, Lyle was employed as an administrative assistant at Harbor Regional Center in Torrance, California, where he was recently honored for his many years of service.

 

Lyle was a member of a kite flying community, and was often found on Seal Beach flying large kites, some multi-cabled. He also enjoyed visiting friends and family in Northwest Missouri, regularly attending the Memorial Day veteran’s service. Lyle was very patriotic and loved the United States Flag. Lyle passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at his home in Long Beach, at the age of 62.

 

In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by uncle, Marvin Kerr, and aunt, Ruth Bogenreif. Survivors include sister, Renae Dillon and husband, Patrick, Stallings, North Carolina; two brothers, Kevin Walter and Bryan Walter, both of Quartz Hill, California; two nieces, Patti Spada and Melissa Dillon; nephew, Travis Walter; uncle, John Walter and wife, Martha, Grandview, Missouri; aunt, Wava June Lytle, Rock Port, Missouri; numerous cousins; and his adored four-legged friend, Wally.

 

Graveside Service and Interment: 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 14, 2019, Linden Cemetery, Rock Port, Missouri

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Thursday, June 13, Minter Funeral Chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
