Patricia Ann (Kelley) Walker, was born on August 19, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 17, 2023, at the age of 85.
Pat received her early education in parochial schools and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville. After graduation, she attended and graduated from the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, Missouri in 1957. While awaiting her employment as a Flight Attendant with Continental Airlines, she was employed by Richards and Conover Hardware Company and at Kay Sales Manufacturer.
Pat met Kenneth Walker in May of 1958 while visiting in Rock Port. They married October 18,1958. Pat was employed by Farmland Industries in Kansas City until the birth of their son, Jeffrey in December of 1959. In the spring of 1960, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky for employment and their son Michael was born in February of 1961. They moved to Rock Port in March 1961, and Cynthia was born in 1962.
Pat began working at the Coach House restaurant and then at Missouri Beef Packers as a switchboard receptionist and secretary. She joined Citizens Bank and Trust in 1973 as a teller, later serving as a receptionist/secretary, resigning in 1984 to spend time with her husband. In 1988, she was again employed by Bank Midwest, resigning in 1992 to pursue other interests.
Pat found great joy and blessings in serving her Lord and spending time with family and friends. Her interests included a passion for reading, traveling, music, movies, gardening, Kansas City Chiefs, the Kentucky Derby, nature, singing, laughing, and serving others. Pat enjoyed fishing trips with her husband, the horse races, vacations in Florida, Kentucky, California, and Maine, and her beloved cat Sophie.
Pat was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, Tarkio, and the St. Ann Altar Society, Rock Port Garden Club, Rockin’ Red Hatters of Rock Port, and Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was a past member of Sorosis and a founding member of Friends of the Library.
Pat is survived by sons, Jeffrey (Jillinda) Walker, Kansas City, Missouri, Michael (Anna) Walker, Redondo Beach, California; daughter, Cynthia (Walker) Burton, Rock Port; grandchildren, Dr. Shannon (Ryan) Fletcher, Olin and Natalie Walker; great grandson River Fletcher; sister, Rebecca Kelley, brother, Robert (Anne) Kelley; sister-in-law Jeanne Garst, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Walker; her parents, Robert and Madelyn Kelley; sister, Connie Lusher; sister-in-law Shirley True, and beloved aunts.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 24, 2023, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Tarkio.
A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M., prior to the service, Friday, February 24.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Thursday, February 23, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Memorials: Atchison County Library or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Inurnment: 2:00 P.M., Friday, Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
