1941-2015
Herman, Nebraska

 

Ray Dean Moody, the son of John Wesley and Katie Annetta (Knierim) Moody was born May 4, 1941, in Rock Port, Missouri. He attended North Polk Country School and Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1959.

 

On November 22, 1963, Dean was united in marriage to Dorothy Arlene Olsen at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westboro, Missouri. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska, for 25 years before moving to Herman, Nebraska, where they lived to the present time.

 

Dean was a professional “stage hand.” He constructed permanent and temporary stages for high schools, colleges and concerts throughout the country. In Omaha, he installed theatre sets and stages at the Orpheum Theatre, Civic Auditorium and Aksarben. For the past 5 years, he was employed with Nebraska Medical Center.

 

Dean was a former member of the South Omaha Eagles and of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees of the United States and Canada. Dean passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 73.

 

Dean was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Dorothy Arlene, of Herman; two sons, Larry Dean Moody and wife, Carrie, Mead, Nebraska, and Donald Dean Moody and wife, Denell, Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, John Donald Moody and wife, Johnita, Rock Port, Missouri; sister-in-law, Annette Hess, Richland, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

GRAVESIDE SERVICE AND INTERMENT: 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 16, 2015, Linden Cemetery, Rock Port, Missouri.
Memorials may be directed to the Dean Moody Memorial Fund.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
