Wendell L. Johnson, the son of Harry Marshall and AnnaBelle (Stevens) Johnson was born December 13, 1948 in Elmo, Missouri. Wendell graduated from Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri in 1966. He then graduated from Central Technical Institute where he studied electronics.
On September 28, 1969 Wendell was united in marriage to Nina Morrison and they became the parents of Kristine, Kolette, Karen, and Kenneth. They later divorced. On Aug 31, 1984, Wendell was united in marriage to Teri Alberti and they became the parents of one son, Cody. They later divorced.
Wendell farmed with his dad as well as sold and repaired two-way radios out of his home. He was a master gardener and sold his produce at five markets a week in Shenandoah, Clarinda, Tarkio, Fairfax and Rock Port. Wendell was very active in his community and a member of Westboro Lions Club, Westboro Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, Westboro School Board, Westboro United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association. He was devoted to his family and especially loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and reloading any type of ammunition. Wendell passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 70.
Besides his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristine, and son, Kenneth Johnson. Survivors include his children; Kolette Johnson, Clarinda, Iowa, Karen (Jeff) Williams and Cody Johnson, all of Westboro; nine grandchildren, Taylor (Sierra) Hielen, Landry Hester, Adysen Hester, Kelsey (Jared) Price, Kaly (Jake) Wyatt, Keisha Williams, Keaton Williams, Savannah Johnson and Brady Johnson; four great-grandchildren, M.J. Madron, Jagger Price, Reagan Price and Jayla Niles; daughter-in-law, Jessica Baldwin; and numerous cousins.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019, Westboro United Methodist Church.
INTERMENT: Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.
FAMILY VISITATION; 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 9th, Westboro United Methodist Church, prior to the services.
Memorials: Center Grove Cemetery or the Wendell Johnson Memorial Fund.
Services: Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri.
